Welcome to the Robocats: 379!

Let the games begin! -UPDATED!
In this year’s game, “Rack ‘N’ Roll,” students’ robots are designed to hang inflated colored tubes on pegs configured in rows and columns on a 10-foot high center “rack” structure. Extra points are scored by robots being in their home zone and lifted more than 4” off the floor by another robot before the end of the 2 minute and 15 second match.

The lottery deadline was January 21! We hope everyone got their tickets, and good luck to all of you!

Lastly, to everyone viewing this page, the website will be undergoing some SERIOUS, long overdue construction over the next few weeks. But don't worry! The most important part of our website, the forums, should still be active, should the site fail to load. You can access them at: www.girardrobotics.com/forum .

Adieu!

        So far this year...

The Robocats have been working NONSTOP since returning from Nationals in Atlanta, GA in 2006.

For the new season, starting in June, our camp was held from July 10 to July 14. On July 22, we held a golf outing, and on August 1, we held a National Night Out Display in Downtown Girard. This was used to inform the community of what has been going on. At the Canfield Fair (August 30 to September 4) we held a display, making our purpose known to all those who passed us by.

As the 2006-2007 school year started, we sold Macy's cards and Daffin's Candy Bars. October wielded a great amount of activity as we worked on an aluminum recycling drive, WYTV appearances, and a Trash and Treasure sale, as well as beginning our preparations for Donkey Basketball.

In November, 5 of our members honored the team by making a presentation at the OSBA Conference in Columbus, OH. Throughout November we began a book drive for Hurricane Katrina victims with the Rotary Club, and began selling our poinsettias for Christmas.

Throughout December we worked on the Night at the Races and Chinese Auction.

Currently, we've been vigorously planning our robot for the 2007 games.

Does it seem like we're busy? Wait until next month!
