The following list of tips could help you out a lot on the field and in the pit area!
1) Safety Glasses should be worn at all times.
2) When cutting, always wear gloves.
3) Have a First Aid Kit near by.
4) Don't wear loose clothing.
5) Put up all long hair before using machines.
6) Don't wear watches or other jewelry.
7) Be alert of your surroundings at all times.
8) No horseplay: Running, Throwing, screaming, etc.
9) People using machines need their space to work. It's okay to watch -- just give them room.
10) Machines have safeguars for a reason. Make sure they are down when not in use.
11) Don't be afraid to ask for help. There is always someone around who know how to properly use a machine/tool.
12) If using a machine, be responsible; don't leave the machine until it is turned off.
13) If it moves, keep your hands and fingers away from it.
14) Always clamp down what you are using.
15) Make sure your area is clean and you have a lot of area to work.
16) CLEAN UP AT THE END OF THE DAY. Put the tools back to where they go, make sure there are no scraps on the floor, etc.
17) Make sure the location of all safety equipment is known by everyone.
